Specifications Parameter Category Details Manufacturer & Series Schneider Electric, Modicon M340 / BMX System Complete Model Number BMXFTB4020 Product Type 4-Slot Terminal Baseplate (Passive Backplane) Compatible Modules Designed exclusively for the BMX FTB** series of analog function modules, such as: • BMXFTW1002 (2-channel Thermocouple Input) • BMXFTW2002 (2-channel RTD Input) Number of Slots 4 (Can accommodate up to 4 compatible FTB modules) Primary Functions • 24V DC Power Distribution to mounted modules. • Modbus SL Communication Bus distribution to mounted modules. • Mechanical mounting and alignment. • Centralized field wiring termination. Connection to PLC The entire assembly (baseplate + mounted FTB modules) connects to a Modicon M340 CPU via a single, dedicated Modbus SL cable (e.g., BMXXCAUSB01 cable for connection to the CPU's USB port, or connection to an NOM module). This greatly simplifies wiring compared to individual module connections. Field Wiring Terminals Removable screw terminal blocks for connecting field sensor wires. Power Supply Requirements Requires an external 24V DC power supply to be connected to the baseplate's power terminals, which it then distributes to all modules. Power Consumption Negligible for the baseplate itself. Total current draw depends on the sum of all installed FTB modules (typically tens of mA per module). Operating Temperature 0°C to +60°C Mounting DIN rail (35mm) mounting. Dimensions (W x H x D) Approx. ~140 mm x 100 mm x 70 mm (Width depends on number of modules installed). Configuration The individual FTB modules are configured via the EcoStruxure Control Expert software. The baseplate itself requires no configuration. Typical Applications Creating centralized, multi-point temperature measurement stations in process control applications (e.g., in HVAC, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemical processing) where multiple thermocouples or RTD sensors need to be connected.
