The Schneider Electric VW3A1006 is a braking resistor module designed for use with Altivar variable frequency drives (VFDs). This compact, enclosed unit combines a braking chopper (IGBT) and a resistor in a single package to dissipate regenerative energy generated during motor deceleration or overhauling loads. It prevents drive overvoltage faults and enables faster stopping times.
