Technical Parameters Parameter Description / Value Product Type Zener Safety Barrier Application For interfacing between safe-area equipment and intrinsically safe field devices in hazardous areas. Mounting DIN Rail (35mm, EN 60715) Safe-Area Supply (Um) The maximum voltage that can be applied to the safe-area terminals. Typically 250V AC/DC. Intrinsic Safety Parameters (Hazardous Area Side): These values are defined by the "31" in the code and MUST be verified from the certificate. Typical examples may include: • Ui (Max. Input Voltage): e.g., 28V DC • Ii (Max. Input Current): e.g., 93 mA • Pi (Max. Input Power): e.g., 650 mW • Ci (Max. Internal Capacitance): e.g., 83 nF • Li (Max. Internal Inductance): e.g., 4.2 mH Output Parameters (Uo, Io, Po): The maximum voltage, current, and power the barrier can deliver to the hazardous area under normal conditions. Approved Hazardous Area Typically Gas Group IIC / IIB + H2 and Dust Group III (for the highest level of protection). Specific approval depends on certification. Temperature Class (T4, T6, etc.) Indicates the maximum surface temperature of the device. T6 is common (≤85°C). Connection Method Screw clamp terminals. Standards & Certifications ATEX, IECEx, UL/CSA (for North America). The specific approval body and certificate number (e.g., KEMA, PTB) are the most critical parameters and are marked on the device label. Required Earth Connection Mandatory. Must be connected to a high-integrity, dedicated earth/ground rail as per standards.
